Want a wine that’s going to deliver all the refreshment of an aromatic white with the texture of a full-bodied white? Then a Gris from Orange could well be your salvation. This is a seriously well-made wine that takes its influence from the wines of Alsace and is full on the palate without being cloying. This shows varietal aromas of pear and cut apple as well as peach and citrus flavours on the long finish. A belter of a food wine, pair it with pork or poultry for best results.
Weemala is both an Aboriginal word for ‘good view’ and the name of our vineyard in the Central Ranges of NSW. As the birds that live here can testify, it does have a bloody good view. Right now you’ve got a pretty good view of our Pinot Gris.
The Pinot Gris is light gold in colour, and has aromas of pear, honeysuckle and nougat with poached apple, white peach and nutty flavours on a silkily textured palate before a long lemony finish.
