Brilliant water like colour with a very faint greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Piercing lemon, lime and talc aromas are followed by a hint of green apple and mineral. The palate is lighter and leaner than expected with steely flavours of lemon and lime alongside a touch of orange rind with a dry steely mineral infused finish. Clean crisp acidity with an aftertaste of lime, lemon and steely mineral.
Hewitson Gun Metal Reisling (Eden valley)
The very dry preceeding Winter, Spring and Summer delivered very small berries and subsequently a very low yield. As a conseqence the vineyard was hand-picked in the cool, early daylight hours of 20th February and we immediately whole-bunch pressed the fruit and made an earlier than usual press cut to optimise the free-run quality.
