Boutique Wine – KING VALLEY
Vintage 2016
Pinot Grigio shone in the King Valley in 2015, and the fresh aromatics developed are on true display. The dryer conditions and moderate temperatures were encouraging early on in the growing season, and temperatures in January allowed sugar levels to climb steadily rewarding us at harvest. Rain in January was welcomed, coupled with cool nights, giving the fruit some reprieve, and allowing the retention of crisp fresh acidity.

Made solely from the free-run juice after whole bunch pressing, the wine is clarified and fermented in a stainless steel tank for approximately 14 days at temperatures between 13° & 15° Celsius. The wine is stabilised and fined prior to bottling in late May 2016 to lock in the crisp, fresh and unique Grigio aromatics.
Tasting notes
The Duck Grigio really finds its feet in 2016. Fresh from the glorious King Valley, she shows lifted notes of pear skin and fresh fennel, dancing on full pear flesh flavours. Don’t forget the lick of citrus balanced with delicate minerality, and you have the perfect ‘wish you were here’ moment from the Mediterranean.
