The original recipe for Bosford comes from D. Collins and K. Bryant, produced in Henry Palmer distillery in Bosford: it is made of juniper berries and other herbs added to a perfectly pure alcohol. The end result is a good versatile gin. Gin is a spirit flavored with juniper berries. Distilled gin is made by white grain alcohol re distillation which was flavored with juniper berries. Gin compound is made by flavoring neutral grain alcohol with juniper berries without re distillation and can be considered a flavored vodka. The most common style of gin, typically used for mixed drinks, is London Dry Gin. London Dry Gin is made by taking a spirit of neutral grain (usually produced in a fixed column) and re distillation after the botanicals are added. In addition to juniper, it is usually done with a small amount of citrus plants such as lemon and bitter orange peel.
