THE REGION

The Riverina region is centred on the town of Griffith and surrounding villages of Yenda, Hanwood, Bilbul as well as encompassing the small township of nearby Leeton. Our region has a long tradition of winemaking dating back to 1913 and is well renowned for producing high quality and unique styles of wine. Now, over one hundred years later the Riverina stands as Australia’s largest wine producing region, steeped in tradition and home to multiple founding families of the Australian wine industry, including 7 of the top 20 wine businesses in the country. We also proudly hold the title for the largest plantation of the Durif variety in Australia. Durif being our flagship variety for the region and a must try when visiting!
